Drawing my character ideas

I really want to have this character to have penguin qualities such as the big eyes, giving it a unique look so am combining the two.

Combining the two together, I have managed to create this. This is what I had in mind but as it is only rough I plan to make the character more detailed and to make it obvious of the characteristics it will have. I want the eyes to be similar to those of a penguin, the cartoon version, like this.

I also want the character to have orange features so for the hair has the penguin is orange on the hands and feet, I chose to incorporate this but with the hair and lips. When I develop the drawing more, I plan to make this more obvious giving it a unique look.
